2027 Shamrock Showdown

The Lincoln Ice Hockey Association is proud to host the 13th Annual Rebecca Miller Memorial Shamrock Showdown, March 5–7, 2027, in Lincoln, Nebraska!

The Shamrock Showdown is a youth hockey tournament held in memory of Rebecca Miller, bringing teams and hockey families together for a fun and competitive weekend of hockey in Lincoln.

The 2027 tournament will feature 6U and 8U divisions, with games played at both The Ice Box and John Breslow Ice Hockey Center.

8U: Games may be scheduled Friday through Sunday
6U: Games will be played Saturday and Sunday

Both facilities are located in Lincoln and will be used throughout the tournament weekend.

Games

Teams will play a scheduled tournament game schedule throughout the weekend. There is a four-game minimum for each registered team.

8U: Games may be scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
6U: Games will be scheduled Saturday and Sunday
Game schedules will be provided to participating teams prior to the tournament.

Extra Costs

8U Registration: $600 per team

6U Registration: $300 per team

There are no additional tournament fees beyond the registration fee.

This is NOT a Stay-to-Play tournament. Teams and families are free to choose their own hotel accommodations and are not required to book through a tournament hotel or hotel partner.

Is this a Stay-to-Play tournament?

No. The Shamrock Showdown is NOT a Stay-to-Play tournament. Teams and families are free to choose their own accommodations and may stay at any hotel of their choice.

What divisions are offered?

The 2027 Shamrock Showdown will offer three 8U divisions and one 6U division.

How many teams will you accept?

Each 8U division will be limited to 16 teams. The 6U division will be limited to 12 teams.

When will 8U teams play?

8U games may be scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

What is the 8U game format?

8U games are played 4 vs. 4 on half ice with goalies. Coaches remain on the bench and referees are provided.

What is the 6U game format?

6U games are played 3 vs. 3 cross ice with no goalies. Coaches are on the ice.

Is registration limited?

Yes. Space is limited to 16 teams in each 8U division and 12 teams in the 6U division

When will the tournament schedule be available?

The tournament schedule will be finalized and sent to participating teams by mid-February 2027. Teams will receive their complete game schedule and tournament information prior to the event.

Where can I find the tournament rules?

The official tournament rules will be provided to participating teams and will also be available through the tournament information page.

Will there be activities for families?

The 2026 tournament included a tournament store, vendors, skate sharpening, concessions, food trucks, a silent auction and 50/50 raffle, player gift bags, and on-site photography.

Is there bracket play?

Yes. Following pool play, teams advance to single-game-elimination bracket play, with championship games scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

What happens if a bracket game is tied?

If a bracket-play game is tied at the end of regulation, the game proceeds immediately to a shootout. The official tournament rules govern the shootout format.
