Officials

The Lincoln Ice Hockey Association is always recruiting for on-ice officials.

The USA Hockey Officiating Program registers, trains, tests, and certifies approximately 26,000 officials in the United States. Officials registered with USA Hockey officiate all sanctioned games, tournaments, and other events from youth hockey to the Olympic Games. USA Hockey welcomes male and female officials between the ages of 11 and 70.

1. Register to become a USA Hockey member.
2. Pay annual USA Hockey membership fee.
3. Review the two emails received (USA Hockey membership confirmation and USA Hockey unique referee number).
4. Review the USA Hockey Playing Rules & Casebook and Basic Officiating Manual (sent via USPS).
5. Complete SafeSport Training.
6. Complete the Background Check.
7. Complete Online Video Modules (mix of required and elective topics).
8. Register for a USA Hockey Classroom Seminar.
9. Complete Open Book Exam.
10. Receive USA Hockey Officiating Card and Sweater Crest.
11. Begin officiating games.
