2026 - 2027 6U / 8U
Our 6U/8U program introduces young players to the game of hockey in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate environment. Players develop fundamental skating, puck handling, passing, and teamwork skills through structured practices and cross-ice games that emphasize skill development, confidence, and a love for the game. Whether your child is new to hockey or continuing to build their skills, our program provides a great foundation for future success.
Ages
This program is for players who are 8 years old and younger.
When
Session 1 runs October - December.
Session 2 runs January - March.
Players may also sign up for the full season, which encompasses Sessions 1 and 2.
Where
Practices and games are held at the Ice Box and Breslow Hockey Rink.
Practices
Teams initially practice 2 times per week on Saturdays and Sundays, eventually moving to one practice and one game per week.
Games
6U and 8U games are held on Sundays during the seaon.
Jerseys & Equipment
Jerseys and equipment are borrowed from the organization for the duration of the season. An email will be sent before the season starts with a date to check out equipment.
Extra Costs
There are extra costs for the 8U Select team. If your child tries out and is selected for this team, you will be expected to provide your own gear. The additional costs will be for tournaments, hotels, and extra ice time for additional practices.
