LIHA COVID Policy as of January 4, 2022

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHC) COVID-19 Risk Dial moved to the red (severe risk of spread) on January 4, 2022.

What does this mean for LIHA teams?

  • Everyone (players, coaches, managers, parents, siblings, spectators, etc.) ages 2+ are required to wear a mask when not on the ice engaged in strenuous activities.
  • Players ages 5+, coaches, managers, and volunteers are encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccine (free at locations throughout the city).
  • Managers must keep track of who is attending practices for contact tracing purposes.

Current CDC guidelines state:

  • Players/coaches/managers who have tested positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, must ISOLATE:
    • Stay home for 5 days.
    • If you have no symptoms, or if symptoms have resolved after 5 days, you can leave your house.
    • Wear a mask around others for an additional 5 days.
  • Players/coaches/managers who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 must QUARANTINE:
    • If you have been boosted OR completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months OR completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months:
      • Wear a mask around others for 10 days.
      • Test on day 5, if possible.
      • If you develop symptoms get a test and stay home.
    • If you have completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine over 6 months ago and are not boosted OR completed the primary series of J&J over 2 months ago and are not boosted OR are unvaccinated:
      • Stay home for 5 days. After that, continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.
      • If you can't quarantine you must wear a mask for 10 days.
      • Test on day 5, if possible.
      • If you develop symptoms get a test and stay home.

These policies will continue to be revised as directed by the LLCHD.  More detailed information is available on the CDC's website. Thank you for doing your part to avoid any further shutdowns with hockey this season!
